Position Overview

We are seeking an Accounting Manager with strong accounting experience and a solid understanding of financial processes. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of accounting experience, including a minimum of 2 years as an Accountant. Experience in property management accounting is highly preferred.

The Accounting Manager is responsible for day-to-day accounting, reconciliations, month-end close, and accurate accounting for Rosenbaum's residential portfolios. This role directly supports the Accounting Manager and collaborates closely with property managers to ensure every property is financially healthy, documented, and fully compliant with Arizona's property management account regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary people manager for the Accounting Department, including accounting staff and Accounts Payable leadership
  • Own day-to-day workflow management, task prioritization, and capacity planning across accounting functions
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and performance management for accounting staff by conducting weekly one-on-one meetings with the Accounting Department staff
  • Hold disciplinary authority for Accounting Department staff in coordination with HR administrative support
  • Identify workflow breakdowns, bottlenecks, and resourcing gaps and escalate as needed
  • Prepare monthly trust bank and credit card reconciliations for all trust accounts
  • Reconcile owner and tenant ledgers to trust balances
  • Prepare owner distribution statements and supporting documentation for Controller review
  • Prepare owner distributions for Controller review and release
  • Post and reconcile owner contributions and capital activity
  • Perform tenant ledger audits and investigate discrepancies
  • Prepare and post month-end journal entries and accruals
  • Prepare all balance sheet reconciliations
  • Manage and execute the month-end close process
  • Prepare preliminary Profit and Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, and Statements of Cash Flows for both entities
  • Reconcile intercompany balances for AP/AR discrepancies
  • Review daily deposit ledgers received from AP Lead
  • Coordinate with AP Lead on AP Tracker payment batch readiness and documentation for Controller approval
  • Support the Controller with audit requests and documentation
